Wichita restaurants and caterers prepare for the Super Bowl

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita Wing Kings and Bronx Pizza and Pints are getting ready for The Big Game on Sunday.

Co-owner Tyler Herndon says they ordered thousands of wings for them to hand bread on Sunday. He says it is their biggest event yet. They make all their own sauces, ranch and bleu cheese.

At Bronx Pizza and Pints, they are running many specials on Sunday, including $1 wings and drink specials. They make sure to have as much prepared as possible. The owner says the Chiefs draw in more people.

“Any other team besides the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, I don’t think it would be as big or as big of an event for us anyway,” general manager Paul Guiterrez said. “Being local and supporting local and people coming out to do that, I think the Chiefs are gonna help quite a bit.”

They have received some reservations and expect to get more as Sunday comes closer. Guiterrez expects people to come in a few hours before the game and says they have extra staff ready as well.

“We’re loaded up on staff. Usually, on a Sunday, I might run three, a couple of servers, and a bartender,” Guiterrez said. “I think I’ve got about four servers and a bartender with a barback as well, so we’ve ramped it up, hoping for a big turnout for the game.”
