Nash Nesmith swishes free throw opportunity, wins state Elks Hoop Shoot competition

EL DORADO – For 12-year old Nash Nesmith, he’s not worried about the pressure. “You just gotta shake it off and just shoot,” he said. That’s what he did at the Kansas State Elks free throw shooting competition last week at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita. The cool, calm and collected Nesmith hit 21 of 25 free throws to win the competition and advance to the regional tournament next month in Colorado. The regional 8 semifinals will take place on March 16 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
