TURNPIKE CRASH: Wichita woman among three people taken to Newman Regional Health

Emporia Fire says it took three people to Newman Regional Health for treatment after a crash on the Kansas Turnpike near the Emporia gate Tuesday evening. The wreck happened just after 6:30 pm just southwest of the Emporia gate. The Kansas Highway Patrol says two vehicles were involved, a car driven by 72-year-old Hai Ly and a car driven by 29-year-old Tresia Spencer, both of Wichita. Troopers say Ly’s car was stopped in a lane to check GPS. Because the other lane was occupied, Spencer’s car had no place to go and hit Ly’s car.
