KSN’s Pet Project: Savannah looking for a home as calm and loving as she is

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Emma with the Kansas Humane Society brought in Savannah, a dog, to KSN’s Pet Project Thursday afternoon. She weighs 43 pounds and is 2 years old.

Emma says Savannah is a very sweet little girl.

“She is very calm and very sweet and very happy all the time,” said Emma. “I haven’t heard her bark at anyone. She was great in the car ride over here.”

She says Savannah is also showing signs of being house-trained.

“I took her out this morning before we came over here. It took her five minutes to do her business, and then she was ready to go inside,” said Emma.

Savannah came to the KHS from the Wichita Animal Shelter.

The KHS sold over 250 puppy grams for Valentine’s Day this year.

“Made over $5,000,” said Emma. “That all goes back to the animals in our care.”

In 2023, the KHS had over 7,000 adoptions.

“That’s really all thanks to our donors cause we were able to provide such a level of care for these animals and get them adopted so quickly,” said Emma. “Just $10 a month is big for our animals. It’ll provide enough money for spay and neuter and vaccinations; $25 a month can help a lot with emergency surgery circumstances, and even just $5 a month, anything will help.”
