WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Overnight rainfall has been impressive across southern Kansas with some areas getting too much rain, resulting in flash flooding. Expect cloudy skies today with off on rain and thunderstorms. Severe weather is not expected, however heavy downpours through Noon could produce flooding and flash flooding. Rainfall totals overnight ranged between 0.50″ to almost 5 inches. An additional 1-3″ are possible through the remainder of the day, as tropical moisture associated with these showers and storms moves over the same general regions of Kansas. High temperatures through the afternoon will only manage to reach the 70s and low 80s due to cloud cover, rain, and northerly winds.
