A cool front is getting ready to move in from the north and will keep conditions unsettled today. After the latest round of strong to severe storms that started the week, there are just some leftover showers to the north.
As winds start to shift due to the front there could be a few more showers that develop from the southwest to the north by midday.
By this time another Heat Advisory will be in effect. There will be a dangerous combination of high heat and humidity.
However, areas farther northwest will be able to tap into some relief as the front moves in. Highs in the 80s in Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska will be pleasant compared to the rest of the area.
We will be back to being weather aware later this afternoon and evening. Strong to severe storms will be possible again.
They will be spotty after 4pm and stretch from Southwest to Northeast Kansas.
The severe threat should wrap up as we head into the overnight but it will not be completely dry.
The front will keep diving south into Wednesday and the rest of the area will be able to partake in some relief from the high heat. Temperatures that follow will be between the 90s and the 80s.
