WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Kansas Highway Patrol is working on a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and semi on Interstate 70.
The crash happened near Junction City in a construction zone, the KHP said. Trooper Ben Gardner says one person was killed, and officials at Fort Riley are in the process of notifying the victim’s extended family members.
Geary County Emergency Management has asked drivers to avoid the area of I-70 at exit 299. For the next several hours, both eastbound and westbound traffic will be rerouted through Grandview from 299 to 301.
KDOT cameras show traffic in the area backed up.
