It’s been six months since the Jackie Robinson statue was stolen , cut off just above the cleats and destroyed in January. Now, a nearly identical statue will stand where the original stood.

The statue will sit on a four-foot-tall home plate. The original was made by the late John Parson, and the owner of Art Castings of Colorado, who built the new statue, said the staff that made the original took pride in the countless hours and attention to detail spent on the replacement.

“When the piece was cast, almost everyone that worked on it worked on the original. I’m glad we could help and get their sculpture back to them. No one will know it was ever gone once it’s installed,” Tony Workman said.
