Veterans Expo at WSU shows veterans resources

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Veterans in Wichita gathered at the Wichita State University Metroplex to get a look at services offered by the county and more.

The Veterans Awareness Expo had over 60 service providers in the building, showcasing what they do for veterans.

That included everything from the V.A. to classes at Wichita State.

“They realized how important it is to our community,” Larry Burks, the director and president of the Board for Military and Veteran Services at WSU, said. “For those of us that are in Wichita, this is something they will always support, and we will always provide this service because it’s much needed and something we’re always going to do because we love and support our veterans and need to make sure we have this for them.”

Veterans in attendance were also able to file DD-214 discharge papers.
