Arrest made after man shot in south Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured early Monday. It happened around 12:45 a.m. near 42nd Street South and Seneca.

Police arrived to find several shell casings on the street. Damage was located to vehicles and an apartment complex. Around the same time, a 24-year-old man arrived at the hospital with “a non-life-threatening” gunshot wound from the incident.

An investigation determined that the shooting started as a result of a disturbance between several men. A 30-year-old Wichita man was arrested for felony possession of a firearm.

Police said the shooting was not random and that all involved are known to each other.
