Wichita school district holds rally for new school year

The Wichita school district held a rally at Riverfront Stadium on Tuesday to celebrate the beginning of a new school year. This was the first “Rally on the River” to be held by Wichita Public Schools, and Superintendent Kelly Bielefeld called it a pep rally to “bring our staff together, in one location, to celebrate who we are, what we do for kids, and how our strategic plan will guide us to focus on student success. We’re a large district, but we want to make sure everyone feels like they belong, which is one of our Strategic Plan goals. Everyone in our district is critical to our success and part of the team.”
