WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has added two more lakes to the blue-green algae advisory on Friday.
The advisory, which is updated and released every Friday, also had two Kansas lakes lifted from the advisory: Horsethief Reservoir, Hodgeman County and River Pond (Tuttle Creek State Park), Pottawatomie and Riley Counties.
The KDHE releases its advisory each week and is broken into three levels: hazard , warning and watch . So far this year, no lakes have been in the hazard advisory.
Here are the Kansas lakes currently in the warning advisory:
- Gathering Pond, Geary County
- Harvey County East Lake, Harvey County
- Lake Afton, Sedgwick County
- Melvern Outlet River Pond, Osage County

- Amesbury Lake, Johnson County (Added Aug. 23)
- Atchison City Lake #8, Atchison County
- Atchison State Fishing Lake, Atchison County
- Augusta City Lake, Butler County (Added Aug. 23)

- Eagle Lake (Bel Aire), Sedgwick County
- King Lake, Lyon County
- Lake Shawnee, Shawnee County
- Louisburg City Lake, Miami County
- Melvern Outlet Swim Pond, Osage County
- Sabetha City Lake, Nemaha County
