Frontiers in Flight air show begins this weekend

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — More pilots flew into McConnell Air Force Base on Friday for the Frontiers in Flight Air Show this weekend.

If you’re heading to McConnell, it’s important to note that the event runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Expect long walks and delays to go through security, as well.

To combat the heat, you are allowed to bring a water bottle (no glass bottles allowed). Outside food is not allowed. You can click here for more on what the Air Show is doing to combat the heat this weekend.

You’ll also want some hearing protection. Bags are allowed and don’t have to be clear, but they do need to be smaller than one cubic foot.

Larger items, such as folding or camping chairs and strollers, wagons or diaper bags for the kids are allowed, but no walking sticks, drones or weapons.

A lot of people are looking forward to the Blue Angels (which start at 3 p.m. both days), but there are many other aircraft flying in, too. One of those is a Fairchild PT-19, a World War II-era aircraft owned by Vietnam veteran Wayne Bormann.
