Hours-long standoff ends at west Wichita home

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — An hours-long standoff in west Wichita has ended. KSN News confirmed it started late Monday.

Wichita police say a 13-year-old child abuse victim showed up at a hospital. Police say this led to a standoff with a 39-year-old father at a home on W. Jennie Circle, near North Parkdale and West Central.

The three-hour standoff ended around 6 a.m. after the father finally surrendered. Police say he was arrested on suspicion of child abuse.
