Wichita police make arrest in case of man killed and left in car trunk

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police say an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting death of Kyce A. Barnes.

On Aug. 21, Barnes was found dead with gunshot wounds in the trunk of an abandoned car in the 8200 block of W. Irving. south of Kellogg and east of Tyler Road.

On Wednesday, police announced they arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of first-degree murder in the 1800 block of N. Hillside. The arrest happened on Tuesday.

KSN does not name a suspect until they are officially charged. Police say the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for formal charges.
