Man hospitalized after shooting early Sunday morning

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One man was hospitalized after a shooting early Sunday morning.

According to the Wichita Police Department, officers received a call just before 2:30 a.m. of a shooting in the 100 block of N. McLean. This is near the intersection of McLean Boulevard and Douglas Avenue where the River Vista Apartments are located.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the hip. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sedgwick County Dispatch initially told KSN that one person received potentially critical injuries.

“There was apparently a couple vehicles that were – we have gathered from witnesses – that were up on the top parking garage. Beyond that, we don’t know what exactly occurred except several exchange of gunfire that rang out between the two vehicles, and they all left the scene, except for the victim that was injured,” said WPD.
