Miss Unstoppable pageant is back for females with intellectual and developmental disabilities

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Miss Unstoppable is back for its annual pageant on Saturday. It is for females ages 6 and up who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. The pageant will be held at 2 p.m. at Wichita Northwest High School.

Adrianna Ehmke is the 2024 Miss Unstoppable, and she says she was nervous at first but loved every minute of it. She also got to participate in parades and events.

“I got to learn that you don’t have to feel scared doing it, and you get to have fun and show people what it’s like being out there in a world,” Ehmke said.

She advises people to try it out because it’s fun showing people your abilities.

“Just go out there, have fun with it, and show who your true self is,” Ehmke said. “And if you aren’t able to do it this year, then there’s always a time next year to do it again, and it’s worth doing it.”

Krystian Caywood is the pageant director and has been involved with Miss Unstoppable since the beginning. Caywood was also Miss Kansas in 2017.
