Late day storms could turn severe

Morning showers and storms across KAKEland fade from the radar, with another chance for storms developing during the afternoon and evening and a few could be severe. A cold front will push southeast through the day across Kansas. This will help keep highs in the 80s to low 90s across Western Kansas, while North and South Central Kansas will be sweating. Highs in and around Wichita will climb into the upper 90s and possibly even a few triple digits possible. The record for Wichita, on September 19th, is 101°, set back in 2022.
