WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Several Kansas agencies are sending a team to Florida to assist with the response to tropical storm Helene.
Kansas is deploying a Type 1 Swift Water Search and Rescue Team, leaving on Tuesday night. The task force consists of members from :
- Derby Fire Department
- Junction City Fire Department
- Manhattan Fire Department
- Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center
- Olathe Fire Department
- Sedgwick County Fire District 1
- Wichita Fire Department
- Office of the State Fire Marshal
The task force will be deployed until Oct. 8 unless the state of Florida changes its request.
