WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – A 12-year-old girl is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in west Wichita. The incident happened at around 6:40 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Maple, near Lawrence Elementary School. Lt. Keith Fort said two girls were crossing the street on their way to school and the driver of the eastbound SUV did not see them.
