Hunter Health gets grant for big plans, but needs help

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Hunter Health is getting a boost for significant expansion plans at its Central and Grove location. The Mabee Foundation has awarded a challenge grant to help with the project. The grant gives Hunter Health a year to raise the remaining $5.03 million needed.

Hunter Health plans to transform the corner of Central and Grove to become a destination for better health. Its Community Wellness Center would provide more space for services, a health education center, additional clinical services, fitness programming and equipment, child education spaces, and more.

“Hunter Health’s goal for the Community Wellness Center is to improve the overall health and wellbeing of our entire community, giving people the opportunity to thrive in body, mind, and spirit,” Amy Feimer, Hunter Health’s chief executive officer, said.
