The Wichita Falls community gathered together Monday to honor veterans on Veterans Day.
The Thomas Fowler American Legion Post 169 hosted the ceremony at Veterans Memorial Plaza near Lake Wichita.
Among the crowd were veterans from every branch of the military that stood up to the sound of applause, as they were recognized.
“I imagine my dad is looking down on us right now, and (he) is very proud of this moment and what Wichita Falls does to honor its veterans,” Michael Battaglino, Wichita Falls city councilor and United States Air Force veteran, said.
Members of the Thomas Fowler American Legion Post No. 169 prayed over the veterans, guests and the community.
A special guest speaker, Texas state Senate candidate and veteran Brent Hagenbuch, ended the ceremony with an emotional speech, thanking his fellow veterans.
