Newton, Kan. (KSNW) — Newton authorities are investigating a Thursday night shooting.
Around 8:20 p.m., Newton Police responded to gunfire reports in the 1000 block of E. 8th Street, where they found a vehicle with multiple bullet strikes and recovered shell casings from the scene.

The residence near where the vehicle was parked was occupied by adults and children at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported. Witnesses reported hearing an unknown vehicle speeding away from the scene.
