WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Moderate to heavy snow continues to move across central Kansas. Snow is accumulating in these areas, with some locations in northern Kansas receiving 4-8″. Locally higher amounts are possible. Wind gusts up to 65 mph are reducing visibility, making travel difficult, if not impossible.
Expect the snow to come to a stop by the early afternoon, but the wind will continue howl through the evening. Gusts over 60 mph will continue to cause problems such as power outages and wind damage in spots.
Temperatures today in the 30s and 40s are roughly forty degrees colder than Tuesday, and the wind will make it feel even worse. However, highs quickly rebound into the 60s on Thursday underneath mainly sunny skies.
