Kansas Blizzard Warning: Zero Visibility Until 11 AM CDT, Travel Extremely Dangerous

Dodge City, KS – A powerful blizzard is sweeping through southwest and west-central Kansas, bringing near-zero visibility and making travel extremely hazardous until at least 11 a.m. CDT.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Dodge City, the heaviest snow is concentrated from Highway 23 east to Highway 183, creating whiteout conditions across the region. Strong winds and blowing snow are making it nearly impossible for drivers to see, leading officials to urge residents to delay travel if possible.

The NWS warned that blizzard conditions are impacting areas from Garden City to Dodge City and extending north and east toward I-70. Road crews are struggling to keep up with drifting snow and low visibility, increasing the risk of accidents and road closures.
