Wichita police offering free gun locks while supplies last

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Citing recent incidents of children gaining access to guns, the Wichita Police Department is offering free gun locks.

The locks are available for pickup at all four patrol bureaus while supplies last. The department says no questions will be asked of those picking up locks, and no identifications are required to receive a free lock.

Our department is committed to improving the safety and well-being of Wichita children. We are offering these gun locks to keep children and their families safe from firearm violence. We encourage our community to work together to promote firearm safety.”
