WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita father is facing criminal charges after his 3-year-old daughter allegedly shot and killed her 1-year-old sister inside their home, according to court records filed in Sedgwick County District Court, detailing the events leading up to the incident.
Michael Tejeda, 24, was arrested in connection with the February 28 incident, in which his toddler daughter reportedly accessed his unsecured firearm and fired a fatal shot at her younger sister. Authorities responded to the scene after Tejeda called 911, frantically asking his daughter why she had pulled the trigger.
