WELLINGTON, Kan. (KSNW) — Firefighters spent three hours getting a building fire under control in rural Sumner County on Tuesday.
Shortly before 5 p.m., someone reported the fire in an outbuilding at a farm near 40th Avenue North and Perth Road , several miles northwest of Wellington. A large plume of smoke was seen from a distance.
When Wellington Fire/EMS arrived, they saw flames from all sides of a metal building. Belle Plaine, Mayfield and Conway Springs firefighters also arrived to help. Three water tankers cycled to keep the fire engines filled.

By the time the fire was out, it had done $133,000 in damage. No one was injured.
