Cra-Z-Art jewelry kits recalled due to hazardous resin

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – LaRose Industries is recalling 10 versions of its Cra-Z-Art Gemex/ Gel2Gem jewelry-making kits .

Why?

The jewelry kits have been recalled because they contain a resin that, when in its liquid form, can cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation or sensitization when inhaled, touched, or ingested.

The resin contains amounts of acrylate (hydroxyethyl methacrylate, “HEMA”) prohibited by the Federal Hazardous Substances Act in children’s products.

No incidents or injuries have been reported at this time.
