NE Wichita neighborhood expresses road safety concerns after car hits student

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Neighbors are expressing safety concerns following an incident last month when a Wichita Heights High School student was hit by a car, resulting in injuries. Residents in a northeast Wichita neighborhood are now voicing their worries about road safety near the high school.

“There’s no place for the kids to cross, there’s no where for them to walk safely, and just having a five year old myself, I can’t even take her out in the neighborhood because people are flying down the road, it’s just, i don’t know it’s just not safe,” said Bonnie Routt, a concerned neighbor.
