Mild morning with temperatures in the 40s and 50s. We will warm into the 60s this afternoon, seasonal for this time of year but well below the heat we saw over the weekend.
Winds will be breezy out of the north today. A few gusts over 30 MPH will be possible through the afternoon, with winds relaxing after sunset.
Fire Weather Warnings are in place for parts of northcentral Kansas through 9 PM.
Sunny skies lead us into Tuesday with warming temperatures. Highs will range from the upper 60s to the low 70s across the state.
Our next chance for moisture arrives late Tuesday night into Wednesday as a piece of energy tracks through the state. Rainfall amounts will be meager, but better chances of widespread showers producing beneficial moisture will arrive for the weekend.
Temperatures continue to roller coaster this week with highs jumping back into the upper 80s and 90s on Thursday before cooling off back into the 60s on Saturday.
Southeastern Kansas has been included in the Slight Risk for severe weather for this Friday, as a strong storm system could produce strong winds and hail.
Rainfall will stick around for much of the weekend. Widespread showers and storms will roll through the Sunflower State.
