Learjet flight to make history with polar circumnavigation mission

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – On April 30th, a small crew departed from Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport with a goal to make history by flying a Learjet airplane over the North and South poles of the world.

The polar circumnavigation mission consists of 23,000 miles and 12 stops around the globe. The mission is part of a fundraiser for the Classic Lear Jet Foundation. The goal is to raise money for the restoration of Lear Jet 23-003 which is the first Learjet delivered to a customer in 1964.
