WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A seven-year-old boy who nearly drowned Thursday night in a hotel pool in east Wichita remains on life support, the organizer of a GoFundMe to help the boy and his family said.
Thursday night, Zaniriusz Chambers, Jr., also known as “ZJ,” was playing in the pool at the Red Roof PLUS+ in the 7300 block of East Kellogg when he went underwater and became unresponsive, Wichita police said. The boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition after first responders with Sedgwick County EMS and the Wichita Fire Department performed life-saving measures.
