WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Runners, dog lovers, and beer fans alike are invited to lace up their shoes—just not too tightly—for one of Wichita’s most laid-back races.
Side Pockets Restaurant and Sports Bar will host the 3rd Annual Barks, Brews & Running Shoes .5K Beer Run on Saturday, June 7, with proceeds benefiting the Kansas Humane Society.
The playful event turns the idea of a grueling race on its head, offering participants a manageable 0.5-kilometer “run”—just over one-third of a mile. But the focus isn’t on speed. It’s about fun, community, and helping animals in need.
