WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The cornerstone of any outdoor event is the food truck. Tuesday, one in Wichita met a fiery end on a routine trip to cater an event. The owners of Ken ‘N Barbie’z Rollin’ Diner are now looking for the best way to start over as quickly as possible.
The life of a food truck driver is hectic, defined by constant movement and long hours. The generator attached to the back of the truck spontaneously burst into flames on the road. Owners Barbie Taber and Kelly Ake only stopped because a good Samaritan flagged them down.
“I’m trying to rip the fire extinguisher off the wall,” Taber said. “I finally get it unbuckled, and the flames are blowing right at me, and then I just ran because I didn’t know what to do.”…
