Project launched to tackle east Wichita neighborhood flooding

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The first phase of work to reduce flooding issues in an east Wichita neighborhood is officially underway.

Bleckley Street in the Crown Heights neighborhood sees some of the worst flooding in the city.

The projected $36 million, three-year project would clear an 80-foot swathe across Bleckley to install a 16-by-8-foot sewer drainage pipe buried beneath the street.
