Wichita victim of drunk driver has a warning before the holiday weekend

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Local law enforcement isn’t the only one reminding Kansans to stay sober behind the wheel this weekend.

Robert Recchio lost his wife to a drunk driver back in 2019.

He’s still recovering physically and mentally from the crash that took his soul mate and doesn’t want people to experience the same thing.

Recchio says that drunk driving creates a domino effect of pain and anguish. After he survived the wreck and learned his wife was gone, he had to call his son to deliver the news.

Recchio knows that there will always be people who make the wrong decisions with alcohol, but he hopes his warning will encourage Kansans to make the right decision this weekend…
