Argument ends in gunfire — dog shot, man arrested

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man is in custody after a dog was shot during an argument Wednesday evening in west Wichita.

Police were called to the 8400 block of West Kellogg just after 7 p.m., where a 36-year-old man said someone had shot his dog. Officers spotted the suspected shooter, a 39-year-old man, nearby. When they tried to question him, he ran.

After a brief foot chase, officers took him into custody. He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail for aggravated assault, additional charges, and a warrant from the Kansas Department of Corrections.
