Car collides with rear of semi hauling fully loaded tank of propane

WICHITA, Kan. (WIBW) – One person was injured when a car collided with the rear of a semitrailer that was hauling a tank filled with propane gas early Thursday in Sedgwick County, officials said.

The crash was reported at 5:35 a.m. Thursday on eastbound K-96 highway, just east of N. 119th Street W. The location was about three miles northwest of Wichita.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2012 silver Ford Fusion was traveling east in the right lane of K-96 when it struck the rear of a 2016 Peterbilt semi pulling a fully loaded tank of propane.

The patrol said the semi was slowing down to make a right turn onto N. 119th Street W. at the time of the collision…
