Scattered showers and storms moving off the high plains have kept the rain coming across western Kansas overnight.
Some places walked away with 1 to 2 inches, with widespread half inch rains in between.
The rain will gradually weaken as it progresses to the east, but it may last until the afternoon when new development takes place along the stationary front draped over the area. .
A cloudy and much cooler day is expected across the area, with highs ranging from upper 70s to middle 80s.
Evening showers and storms will favor southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma.
Flood watches remain in effect for northern portions of Oklahoma until 7 PM Sunday.
Temps fall to the 60s overnight, with clearing skies farther north and west.
A few showers may hang around Sunday in south-central to southeastern Kansas, but chances will be lower and many remain dry.
Temps rise but stay below average Sunday, with highs in the 80s to low 90s.
Taking a break from the storminess Monday, rain chances start to come back by Tuesday as another cold front approaches. This could bring more rains to the area especially on Wednesday.
The near to below normal temperature trend will hold at least for the next week, with gradual warming toward next weekend.
