WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Fall armyworms are emerging earlier than usual in west Wichita, and local experts say numbers are already higher than last year.
“Fall armyworms are a tiny caterpillar that are typically found in agricultural fields, but can also attack and eat home lawns, especially tall fescue ones,” said Matthew McKernan, horticulture agent with the K-State Research and Extension office in Sedgwick County.
