Towne West Square revamp goes before city council

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Wichita City Council will consider a request Tuesday for $21 million in Industrial Revenue Bonds (IRBs) to help convert the former Towne West Square mall into a business park.

Wichita Maple intends to renovate the existing mall building and market it as an industrial warehouse and manufacturing facility. The owner has requested $21 million in IRBs to convert the property. The owner is requesting a sales tax exemption of $500,000 for construction materials and labor. The project is estimated to cost a total of $41 million.
