Heat wave continues in Wichita, throughout Kansas this week

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Jake Dunne says it is a warm and muggy morning across Kansas, and the day ahead will follow suit. Wake-up temperatures in the 70s will climb into the upper 90s this afternoon, and when factor in the humidity it will feel like 105 degrees.

Our weather will not change much this week as the heat dome keeps its grip on the state. Afternoon temperatures around the century mark will feel like 105 to 110 degrees. Strenuous outdoor activities should be avoided during the afternoon, and if you must be outside, please stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade.

A piece of energy coming out of the Rockies on Wednesday into Thursday may ignite a few storms across the state. The best chances will be along and north of I-70 with isolated storms farther south, including the Wichita area on Thursday evening/night…
