Arrest made in north Wichita homicide

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – An arrest has been made in connection with a homicide on Friday in north Wichita, according to the Wichita Police Department.

Around 8:45 a.m., officers and Wichita Fire Department crews responded to a report of a man down near the entrance to an alley in the 2400 block of North Jeanette. When they arrived, they found a 49-year-old Ruben Parga-Quintanar of Dodge City with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wichita police said Parga-Quintanar was shot elsewhere and collapsed after fleeing on a bicycle. As the case progressed, detectives determined he was shot in the alley and then collapsed nearby.
