WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A comedian who spent 11 years on Saturday Night Live before branching off to create his own sketch comedy show is coming to Wichita.
Fred Armisen is bringing his “Comedy For Musicians but Everyone Is Welcome” tour to Wichita in October. Armisen will perform at TempleLive on Oct. 18.
Meeting held on Old Town paid parking
Armisen was a cast regular on SNL from 2002 to 2013, but his career in show business began as a drummer in the indie band Trenchmouth. Comedic videos he recorded at music festivals, where he interviewed other musicians while playing different characters, eventually led to a stand-up career and caught the attention of Saturday Night Live. After SNL, he co-created “Portlandia” on IFC with Carrie Brownstein, a founding member of Sleater-Kinney.
