JJ’s Star Spangled Salute: A Kansas Veteran Returns Home

Today, I salute Kansas Army Veteran Joshua Tweet. In 2009, when he finished high school, Joshua enlisted. First, it was infantry training and airborne school, and then he was off to Afghanistan for his first tour, working with Afghanistan’s national army and national police, battling the Taliban. Tweet’s team also provided for the Afghan citizens and protected them from terrorists. “Playground equipment, healthcare, hygiene, we helped stock their hospitals. So we would just do these peacekeeping missions to these small, tiny villages at the base of the Himalayas,” he said. There were several assignments after that before he was honorably discharged in 2014 as an E4 specialist. After traveling the country for a decade, he’s back in Wichita working as a bartender, but says…..
