Storms return to Kansas tonight & Sunday

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – After reaching the 100s yesterday, a cold front will bring cooler temperatures and storm chances to the state this weekend.

The front will move slowly through the state today, bringing highs in western Kansas to the upper 80s and low 90s. Ahead of the front to the east, temps will soar to the upper 90s and low 100s. The heat index will make it feel more like 103-106 degrees.

Isolated to scattered storms are possible in western and northern Kansas tonight. Some storms could linger into north-central Sunday morning. Most of Sunday afternoon should be dry with highs in the 80s and 90s. Storm chances increase across the state during the late evening and overnight hours.
