WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Storm Team 12 Weather Alert Day continues for Friday with highs near or just above the 100 degree mark. However, given the amount of humidity, heat index values could be just slightly higher over central and eastern Kansas.
Wind gusts will remain from the south on Friday with some potentially topping 30mph. For the first time this summer, Wichita has a good chance of hitting the 100 degree mark, with much of central and western Kansas getting as high as 106/107.
The front coming in for the weekend will start cooling northwest Kansas down on Saturday. The rest of the state may not see much relief until Sunday when highs fall about 5-10 degrees…
