School teachers rely on Amazon wish lists amid inconsistent funding

Amazon wish lists are becoming more common for teachers to put out each summer in preparation for the upcoming school year, but why is this?

One teacher explains that at her school, the district provides limited funding for curriculum, but nothing else. And there’s no consistency across the Wichita Public School district, either.
