ROSE HILL, Kan. (KSNW) – Watch out for what authorities believe are likely rabid raccoons in Rose Hill.
The Rose Hill Police Department reports that on August 4, they received a report of a raccoon that appeared to have no fear of people, walking out in the open, indicating something wasn’t right with it. Officers captured the raccoon, which was then taken outside the city limits and humanely euthanized.

Police say that since that incident, they have received four more calls about raccoons acting strangely, with each animal being captured and euthanized in the same manner.
